Blog 42

I just wanted to let you guys know that we have 39 days until Winter break! This is until December 10th by the way so it may be less AND it’s including the weekends! I’m so excited! I love having breaks. I’m also excited for Thanksgiving. My family is cooking at our house and we invited other family and friends to join us. My mom always cooks delicious foods! She makes homemade noodles and mashed potatoes! Yum! And she cooks a turkey and ham. We have other dishes as well, but those are obviously the top foods on the table. I have this problem on Thanksgiving where I eat, get full, get bored, eat again, ALREADY FULL, get bored, eat again. Anyone know what I mean? It’s just the day where my body wants to eat all the time. I can’t help it. All that food stares at me! So I talked with my mother last night and she said she bought a really nice Christmas tree at a yard sale for 10 bucks I think? She said it’s really pretty and it’s 9 foot tall. I have no idea where she is going to put it. I don’t even know if our living room is 9 foot tall! But she’s my mother and she will find a way, as usual. She said we could put it up on the Friday after Thanksgiving! I always love putting up the tree. We used to do it as a family but I usually end up putting it up by myself with someone else’s help. I even put up my grandma’s tree. She lives next door so I help her out a lot. So as you can tell, I have a fake tree. Which do you guys prefer? I’ve never had a real tree but I really like the “fake” ones. We always get fake trees and people think they look real so it’s always a win!

  1. My family could never have a real tree because of my allergies, which they found out by accident during my first Christmas from what I am told. I can not wait to see everyone, hang out with my family and friends, eat food that doesn't come in a plastic container of some sort, and sleep in my own bed! Yeah for breaks!

  3. I love thanksgiving. It's just behind Christmas in my holliday ranking. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go home for thanksgiving this year because the commute would be rediculous. It will be my first time I will not be home for Thanksgiving, but it's all good.
My family always gets real trees. I like them a lot. They are probably toucher do deal with cause the needles fall off you have to worry about the base fitting in the stand, but I think they look nicer cause they seem more full, and the smell is nice.

  4. My family always gets real trees. We usually put it up the week before Christmas though, and I think if our Christmas tree is so short lived we might as well get the real deal. However, most of the best trees are fake, but it really does something to get me into the Christmas Spirit when I go out to buy a tree with my parents and brother.

  5. My family has never went out and bought a real tree. I'm sure if we would have, then I'd love them! The needles on our fake tree falls off so it really tricks people into thinking it's living. :P

  6. Oh, and do you mind being up here Joel? I would be very sad if I didn't get to go home for Thanksgiving. I'm attached and I don't get out much over here so that's why. Are you doing the Mirror Lake jump since you'll be up here? (:
